So we have to be really clear with our communication if we want to be effective. So that involves having meetings. We've talked about it over and over and over again, but these meetings have to be focused and goal-oriented.

Keeping Your Enemies Close

Hey there, Insurance Dudes! It's Craig here, and I wanted to chat with you about something that's been on my mind lately. You know, I was reading this book the other day, and it brought up the old saying "keep your friends close, your enemies closer" - we've all heard that one, right? Well, the more I thought about it, the more it made me realize something.

We often come across great advice and ideas that seem so obvious, yet for some reason, we don't always apply them right away. We see what the mentors and gurus are telling us, but sometimes we still choose to do things our way first. And what happens? We struggle, we hit roadblocks, we fail. It's only after all that, that we finally go, "Okay, maybe I should do it the way they suggested in the first place."

It's like we have this tendency to resist the tried-and-true wisdom that's right there in front of us. And that got me thinking - why do we do that? Why can't we just take the known advice and run with it from the get-go?

Well, I believe it all comes down to being open-minded and willing to learn. Sometimes, it's our own pride that gets in the way. We think we have a better idea, or we feel resistant to change. But here's the thing - when we open ourselves up to the guidance of those who have been there, done that, and have the t-shirt to prove it, we can save ourselves a whole lot of struggle and heartache.

So, what's the lesson here? Let's not make things harder for ourselves. Let's be open to learning from the experiences and advice of those who have been where we want to go. It's not about always reinventing the wheel or going against the grain just for the sake of it. Sometimes, the obvious path is the best one.

Let's humble ourselves, be open to learning, and take the known advice to heart. It might just save us a lot of unnecessary struggle and lead us to success more smoothly.

Alright, that's all for now, Insurance Dudes. Keep learning, keep growing, and until next time, take care!

Answer To The Weekly Trivia Question:

In ancient Babylon, around 1750 BC, merchants who took loans to fund their shipments would pay lenders an additional sum to cancel the debt if their shipment was stolen or lost at sea. This practice was recorded in the famous Code of Hammurabi, one of the earliest examples of an insurance policy! This method was a groundbreaking way to manage risk and protect against financial loss, much like modern insurance policies do for businesses and individuals today.
